Hinkley Point C in Somerset is under construction. With a total cost of £18 billion, it is currently the largest construction project in Western Europe and when complete, will provide low carbon electricity to around six million homes. With 25,000 new employment and countless supply chain opportunities available during construction, this project could involve companies across the Black Country that wish to expand their business outside the region.
In addition, with seven more nuclear power stations earmarked for construction over the coming years, it is the start of a boom for specialised skills.
